George Nowak

George Nowak is an accomplished artist, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hartford in 1976. For many years he was the artist for the New Britain Herald, producing three drawings a week and went on to produce drawings for the Hartford Courant Op Ed page. He received numerous awards from the Associated Press as well as the United Press International. While at the Herald, George taught art to the gifted and talented at New Britain High School and still tutors young people and well as teaches older adults at a local senior center. He is president of the Plainville Art League at is very active the Art League of New Britain.

Most recently George place first both in a show at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain as well as the 2004 Art League Carriage House Show.
