Jen Guarino was born in Queens, NY in 1977. She attended the University of Hartford, completing her BFA in 1999 and MFA in 2002.

Jen considers herself an abstract color painter whose interest lies in the perception and deception of color. Color is her subject. The use of color creates space, depth and composition and color creates spaces with a sense of volume and expresses emotion. Her influences include Wassily Kadinsky, Mark Rothko and Robert Mangold.

Jen has shown widely in the New England and New York region.
