Membership

Our art league has been going through some exciting changes and consequently we are ever more reliant upon each other for such things as gallery sitting, administrative chores (envelope stuffing), and help with receptions.  The League is a place where we are able to interact with fellow art lovers and thus be involved with the art community.

Membership includes:

• Quarterly newsletter
• Notices for all events
• Invitations to all exhibitions
• Opportunities to exhibit in Member Shows
• Member discount for juried shows
• Member discount for classes

After long and careful consideration, the Board of Directors has agreed upon a change regarding membership. Starting in the new membership year - June 1, 2004 - there shall be three types of membership: Volunteer, Student and Social.

Volunteer membership shall be $20 per individual/$35 for families with at least one volunteer member. Twelve hours of volunteer work time are required.

Student membership shall be $10 for a college student (with a valid I.D.) and $5 for high school students.

Social membership shall be $30 per individual/$55 for families.

We are in dire need for people to gallery sit. The gallery is now only open during the weekends and we exist in order to share our artwork with the community. In addition there are a minimum amount of gallery hours required for receiving financial grants. We are open far less than any grant committee will accept. Funding is needed because our building is in great need of repairs and upkeep. We welcome anyone who wishes to volunteer. Further announcements on volunteer opportunities will be made prior to the new membership year.
