Description
This class will cover the basics of headshot lighting in studio. In this class participants
will learn and practice how to complete the following:
Equipment used for studio headshots
One, two and three light setups with studio strobes
How to pose clients
How the inverse square law impacts the background for the headshot
Review how to tether photos directly into the computer
Discuss basic editing principles
This will be a lecture based class with demonstrations and class time for participants to take photos. Please note that the instructor uses Godox lighting and triggers, plan to bring a Godox for their own use if possible.
This class will require participants to know the principles of the exposure triangle and how to adjust their camera’s manual settings for shutter speed, ISO and aperture.
Participants will also be required to bring a notebook and pen to make notes during the class.

About the Instructor
Woody Dwyer
Woody has been involved in photography for more than 15 years and has been fortunate to have shot all over the world. He loves capturing the essence of people and families - each person or group tells a different story. He enjoys shooting sports, environmental portraits, families, and working in studio with models developing their portfolios. Each month he offers a Trade for Prints (TFPs) to help local models with high quality images for their portfolios. He has been published in numerous magazines, music singles and advertising prints.
Having played sports his entire life he enjoys photographing sports and fitness activities. For those business professionals, he provide headshot program for their corporate websites or LinkedIn profiles. He also enjoys working with high school seniors and capturing their personalities for their senior portraits.
Photography is a great way to meet people while providing a great service for them to cherish the photos and share with family and friends. It is personally rewarding for him to shoot autumn family sessions and then receiving my client's holiday card with my photos featured.
