Overview
The Art League of New Britain invites members to participate in a special six-month collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Selected artworks will be installed across two DEEP buildings (79 Elm Street in Hartford and 10 Franklin Square in New Britain), creating an off-site exhibition that supports DEEP’s commitment to environmental stewardship, public service, and a cleaner, more reliable energy future for Connecticut. Artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects nature, conservation, sustainability, climate, community resilience, or the evolving relationship between people and the environment.
ABOUT DEEP (Mission)
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) works to conserve, improve, and protect Connecticut’s natural resources and environment while advancing energy solutions that are cleaner, more affordable, and more reliable for residents and businesses. Guided by five strategic goals, DEEP delivers this work through the Office of the Commissioner and three branches—Energy (statewide energy policy and programs), Environmental Quality (protecting air, land, and water through standards, permitting, monitoring, and education), and Environmental Conservation (stewarding wildlife, forests, and recreation lands, including state parks).
